Jakob Lederer holds a master degree in Civil Engineering from TU Wien (2008) and Development Studies from University of Vienna (2009), and a PhD in engineering from TU Wien (2013). His research and teaching focuses on opportunities to reconcile socio-economic development and environmental protection in order to improve and/or maintain the life quality of modern societies. Jakob Lederer previously conducted studies on i) the environmental impact of different sewage sludge treatment options in Europe as well as urban passenger transport, ii) participatory investigation and development of sustainable urban waste management in Uganda, iii) solid waste management in the EU, and evaluation of waste recycling systems.
